The mysterious breakaway enclave of Transnistria (Pridnestrovie in Russian) was visited by Alan and Daniel Hejzlar. The Republic borders Ukraine and Moldova and is a time capsual of Soviet influence, recognised internationally as a state, only by Russia. It's been called Europes' North Korea. The churches are banned from importing Bibles and literature but inspite of that they are still thriving. See more here.
